Puppet Quest with Moving Parts Arts

Funded by the Paul Hamlyn Trust, Year 5 have been involved in a unique and special project, called Puppet Quest led by Moving Parts Arts CIO, focusing on celebrating languages from across the world and spoken in our school. 

Puppet Quest: our puppets, part of the Intergalactic Consortium of Friends, come with messages of peace, hope and inclusion. Able to speak a plethora of languages, our puppets seek to make friends with children from another school in our trust.

Moving Parts Arts Team :
- led by Molly (Participation and Engagement lead);
- JonLuke and Jayne as Drama leads;
- Rim from Action Foundation as language specialist;
- Hannabiel and Gillisis on music;
- James on Film
- our celebration event hosted by Alphabetti Theatre.

What is involved?
- D&T: designing and creating unique puppets using craft materials, each a personal, humorous and unique design;
- Drama: using non-verbal ques and gestures to convey messages, stage presence;
- Oracy: language sharing, intonation, articulation, presentation and physical oracy skills;
- Music: writing and performing songs;
- PHSE: messages and acting on inclusion and acceptance of what makes us special and unique.
- Out of School experiences: a trip to the theatre to meet our partnership school.
