Curriculum Enrichment

Festival of Thought

The children in Wingrove Primary School are instinctively curious about life. Growing up raises lots of questions, some to do with their experience, both the good and the bad, and some to do with their sense of wonder at the universe we live in.

Many of our children have an interest in exploring how these ideas and experiences help them to develop their own sense of identity, self-worth, personal insight, meaning and purpose.

During time visiting the 'Wingrove Festival of Thought' children explored the bigger questions they might not usually get the opportunity to ask or think about in their lives. Please enjoy watching our video below.

International Links with Other Schools

In 2018, we forged links with two schools in the Hubei province in central China. A group of head teachers visited the schools in October 2018 and there they signed the agreement to share good practice and to organise exchange visits for staff and children from each of the partner schools. We are working with Access China UK and are linked with West Jesmond, Ravenswood and Moorside Primary Schools. Wingrove has two sister schools in China. They are The Primary School Attached to Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Wuhan Optics valley No. 4 Primary School. We are looking forward to building these links over the years and hope to arrange out own exchange visit to China soon.
